The Director of Government and Airport Affairs oversees Breeze Airways’ existing and potential airport cost obligations. This is accomplished through the negotiating and executing of airport operating agreements as well as contracts with airport service providers. Further, this role helps establish and adhere to company standards for presence in an airport. Additionally, this role seeks out opportunities for partnership, cost abatement, and other incentive support with local, state, and federal governments as well as relevant corporate entities.
Here’s what you’ll do
- Negotiate airport use and lease agreements and help select necessary premises while maintaining a critical understanding of the airport rates and charges models in effect or under consideration
- Help plan long term strategy to manage and initiate contracting processes with airport service providers while coordinating with the Breeze station operations team for effective administration
- Secure support from local, state, and federal officials as well as other corporate entities to alleviate cost, decrease or eliminate barriers to growth, enhance sustainability, and improve operations
- Listen to and implement the planning team’s vision for airport expansion, as well as advise the planning Team on potential business opportunities
- Best position Breeze to enhance operations and financial considerations in support or opposition of airport capital programs
- Coordinate with the Breeze Finance Team to ensure all airport use and lease agreements conform to budget standards and are properly documented

Here’s what you need to be successful
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four (4) year college or university. Preferred in business, economics, or finance
- Minimum of five years relevant work experience required in airport affairs and airport contract services
- Minimum of five years relevant work experience in contract review and execution
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Travel as needed up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
- JD Degree from an ABA-accredited law school
