The Global Procurement (GP) organization at United Airlines is responsible for procuring goods and services and developing/managing relationships with third-party providers with the objective of reducing total cost and risk to the company while improving levels of quality, service, and technology.
Job Overview And Responsibilities
The objective of this Associate Analyst role is to support the Global Procurement organization with a variety of strategic sourcing and special analytical projects aimed at optimizing our costs. This role will be working across different business divisions and will be expected to provide meaningful data driven insights. This role will require strong analytical skills, multi-tasking, cross-functional collaboration, as well as internal/external stakeholder relationship building.
Provide analytical support to establish robust sourcing methodologies to drive cost savings across different business functions
Support strategic sourcing efforts, such as analyzing bid documents, analyzing supplier spend, creating project plans, etc.
Support process-improvement initiatives, such as creating current and future-state process maps, standardized metrics, etc.
Benchmark current internal processes & external markets to find opportunities and develop strategies to gain identified gaps
Gather, organize and analyze data through various internal and external sources
Perform ad-hoc data analysis and create presentations/reports for stakeholders and leaders, as needed

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree required in a business or quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, economics, statistics, math
0-2 years of relevant experience
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information
Strong problem-solving, communication and people skills
Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Superior attention to accuracy and detail
Preferred
Familiarity with writing complex queries using SQL/ Python/ Spark, etc
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI/ Spotfire
Familiarity with advanced Microsoft Excel techniques
Familiarity with airline operations, or procurement functions
Proven comfort working with large/complex data sets
MBA or Master’s degree in a business or quantitative fields such as computer science, engineering, finance, math, statistics
