Position Summary

The FP&A Analyst is an individual contributor that supports the month-end close, 18-month rolling forecast, and budgeting processes. They develop and evaluate financial models for proposed projects and initiatives and makes recommendations to company leadership. They also serve as the liaison for assigned company divisions and works closely with business analysts to drive value for our guests and company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create templates, models, and tools to drive the planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
  • Work with department leaders to complete the planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
  • Support divisions in maintaining three year project roadmap
  • Track and report division metrics
  • Develop advanced financial models and conduct analysis using a broad range of quantitative tools and techniques (trend analyses on past financial and operational performance, root cause analyses, analysis of profitability drivers, scenario modeling for future options, unit-cost benchmarking, etc.)
  • Develop business cases and scenario models to drive better business decisions
  • Act as FP&A lead on cross functional teams with business groups and other divisions to guide and influence decisions through detailed analysis during assessment, analysis, and execution of company-wide projects and communication with leadership
  • Create reports and presentations for senior leadership
  • Develop expertise in analyses focusing on specialized functions (e.g.Maintenance)
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related working experience
  • 3 years of experience in financial analysis or related experience
  • Strong data gathering and analysis skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make recommendations based on data and analysis
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position. Please note that the provided salary information serves as a general guideline. Our salary is determined by a candidate's experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. The expected pay range is $78,000 - $111,000.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent
  • Expert level knowledge in Excel, including the ability to develop complex multivariable models that may require programming in visual basic for applications
  • Airline experience
  • Experience with Oracle Peoplesoft
