JOB SUMMARY:
Tool Engineers will utilize and develop their knowledge of core manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering principles to design, analyze, and improve tooling methods. Focus of this role is to design and assist the team with the complex tools, jigs and fixtures required for production or experimental use.

Tool Engineers will utilize and develop their knowledge of core manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering principles to design, analyze, and improve tooling methods. Focus of this role is to design and assist the team with the complex tools, jigs and fixtures required for production or experimental use.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop the most efficient ways to use people, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product or service. Utilization of the latest, high technology tools to create Tool Engineering designs, NC Programming, composite fiber placement, Laser Projection, etc.
- Determines manufacturing processes and operations to be used based on manufacturing capacity, capability, and quality of processes, production requirements, expected product quality, machine tools, equipment, tooling, plant facilities and available personnel.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional continuous improvement projects that enable both product and process improvements
- Create Manufacturing Build and Tooling Plans for new aircraft
- Develop manufacturing processes by modifying and designing new equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components
- Observe and analyze current methods and processes for making recommendations on improving production quality, work simplification and cost reduction
- Make a variety of independent technical judgments such as determine if the details, sub-assemblies and installations are within the company’s and supplier’s manufacturing criteria.
- Apply human factors to engineering principles with respect to equipment, tools, devices, controls and procedures for improved productivity and the work environment.
- Perform liaison activities with engineering, tooling, fabrication, assembly departments and suppliers/purchasing.
- Prepare periodic activity and status reports. Performs special assignments as required by management.
- Bachelor of Science degree required in one of the following:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering Technology
- Robotics Technology
- Industrial Engineering
- Other related fields
- Knowledge of core manufacturing, industrial or mechanical engineering principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- Good analytics and problem-solving skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Excellent organizational skills
- Computer proficiency (MS Office, CAD software, FEA/ FEM, etc
- Ability to work within a team
