Job Summary: The Manufacturing Project Engineer is responsible to successfully transition new products from development into production and is an integral part of the development of a new generation of factory systems. The engineer is involved in cross-functional teams driving the execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) plans and working to improve business processes driving safety, quality, delivery and cost. Be the subject matter expert providing support to operations in MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), QMS (Quality Management Systems), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems, interfacing with IT to address improvements, concerns, and issues. Create tools using data analytics tools to turn data into information. The Manufacturing Project Engineer manages multiple implementation plans for incorporating Engineering Change Orders (ECO). Implementation plans to include cut-in effectivity determination, production requirements, field support requirements (tech orders, training, spares and support equipment as needed), planning updates, P.O. Maintenance and WIP management. Duties & Responsibilities: Plan, manage, and drive the completion of Operations NPI requirements across the Product Development Process (PDP) and New Product Development (NPD) processes Partner with Solution program management and IPT teams to drive the completion of Operations responsibilities in the program plan Liaison with manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, supply chain, facilities and value stream management to meet program requirements by milestones Determine priorities, remove roadblocks, address operations issues and ensure actions are completed on time Manage and drive the transition of new products from design to production Create and Maintain dashboards in Data Analytics tools The interface for operations supporting development and sustaining activities of PLM/ERP/MES Transactional process mapping and improvements Creation of standard work documents for business processes Excellent understanding of key manufacturing processes in order to develop and execute the MES strategies Must understand transactions to and from MES/QMS with systems such as ERP and PLM Strong computer skills with ability to quickly learn new software/applications Project management – initiating, planning, executing project work Developing user requirements for MES, QMS and ERP systems Deployment experience with plant floor/Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) solutions preferred Ability to think analytically and be an excellent problem solver Ability to effectively influence and work in cooperation with cross functional teams Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a matrix organization and effectively lead without direct positional authority Strong communication, presentation and teamwork skills including the ability to write clear and concise technical documentation Ability to break down problems and gain understanding to make effective decisions Passion to set and meet high standards of performance Ability to establish clear, measurable goals and deliver on commitments Ability to develop and deliver training to a wide range of users Proactively report on project progress against scope, schedule, cost and performance Conducts a variety of organizational studies, investigations and operational studies; recommends modifications to policies and procedures as appropriate Lean certification or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus Strong Project/Program Management experience highly desired Minimum Qualifications: Experience : Five (5) or more years’ experience in a manufacturing production environment and experience in manufacturing execution systems Knowledge/Skills/Abilities : Knowledge of product and manufacturing development process Manufacturing Execution Systems Knowledge of the Aerospace Regulatory environment Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principals and tools Knowledge of Data Analytics tools Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills Ability to learn new software systems and tools Education/Certification : BS Degree in an engineering discipline or related field Employment Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered.
