Senior Training and Professional Specialist

Job Purpose

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Technical Studies Institute (TSI) Programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment and development of teachers and trainers. Providing support to, and coaching & mentoring of teaching and training personnel in the Technical Studies Institute (TSI), to meet the needs of the TTS Training Plan.

Job Accountabilities

The job holder will:

• Oversee the preparation and implementation of individual learning plans for teachers and trainers in order to establish a learning path of professional development related to job roles within the School of English Language (SEL) and the Academic Wing (AW).
• Deliver training workshops and presentations for staff based on requisite requirements.
• Lead the development and delivery of designated new and existing training programmes and projects, specifically Spark/LinkedIn Learning to satisfy TSI and individual needs and to time, cost and quality requirements.
• Provide tutorial and mentoring support to newly-qualified and probationary teachers and trainers.
• Liaise with Senior English Language Teachers (SELTs) to provide support for English Language Teachers (ELTs) where deficits in standards have been observed by StanEval in lesson observations.
• Perform classroom assessments and observations when necessary for all TSI teachers and trainers.
• Implement processes and procedures, to deliver Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and Personal Improvement Plans (PIPS) to ensure compliance with the capability policies, and to facilitate support where training deficits have been identified.
  
  

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

The Post-holder Must Have

• City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in a mutli-skill Technical Discipline (or recognised equivalent qualification)
• A recognised formal teaching/instructing qualification
• Extensive teaching or trainer experience
• Experience of coaching & mentoring to support teaching and training staff in both an academic and pastoral context
• Good knowledge of training systems; analysis, design, delivery and assurance.
• Experience in development, management/supervisory and delivery of academic education and training programmes.
