The Duty Engineer is an essential member of the Line Maintenance production team. You will be managing your shift as well as the operation and planned maintenance activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the continued smooth running of the operation and the delivery of a best in class maintenance service, maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence at all times. Safety is easyJet’s highest priority and as part of your role you will ensure that the planned in-house maintenance activity supports both regulatory standards and easyJet’s industry-leading safety and technical standards.

What You Need To Do The Role

The ideal candidate for the Duty Engineer should have relevant operational experience in an engineering and maintenance environment, preferably with supervisory knowledge. You should also hold a UK Part 66 B1 or B2 license and authorization or equivalent on company aircraft, which would be preferable. It is essential that the candidate can demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of applicable airworthiness legislation and has ideally worked in a line maintenance environment for a minimum of five years. The candidate must possess a proven ability to communicate issues to management and have a high degree of customer focus, both internal and external. The ability to work effectively in a team, as well as independently, at all levels of the organization, is a must-have skill for the candidate. The willingness to be flexible to meet deadlines, overcome operational problems, and embrace change and drive improvements within the business is also essential. A working knowledge of health and safety legislation and proficiency in IT are additional requirements for the candidate.

Location & Hours of Work

This full-time role will be based in Birmingham working a DDNN 12 hour shift. Shift pattern will 4x4 with occasional travel requirements to easyJet’s headquarters or network locations.
