This position is for Flight Test Discipline/Systems Engineers, providing support for flight test planning and implementation. These candidates will be part of a productive, changing environment exploring state of the art technical solutions. The Flight Test Discipline Engineer will be tasked across the full flight test life cycle.
Participate in real time control room activities during flight implementation. You will validate that aircraft sensors and mission system tests are conducted correctly by actively monitoring real time telemetry data during flight.
Assist with on aircraft troubleshooting and failure
resolution as needed to ensure test aircraft are mission capability. Coordinate with other mission system personnel to resolve system failures or performance questions. Participate in problem identification, analysis, and resolution. Assist with collection, distribution and analysis of data acquired during flight test missions.
Ideal candidate will have flight test design,
integration, and flight test experience with sensors, mission systems, displays, and mission planning. Excellent communication, writing, mathematical, computer skills, a plus. Applies advanced technical principles, techniques, philosophies and concepts. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practicable, and consistent with organizational goals.
Travel, overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work may be required.

Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Discipline
• Prior Flight test experience.
Desired Skills:• Aircraft flying qualities and/or handling qualities
experience.
• Experience in areas of flight control laws, stability &
control, simulation, and pertinent air vehicle hardware
and/or software systems.
• Aircraft Trim, Linearization, & Simulation (ATLAS) tool skills.
• Integrated Analysis & Data System (IADS).
• Flight Test Envelope Expansion Experience
• Familiar with MATLAB and VBA, Python, or C++.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and MS Windows operating system.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $82,200 - $157,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, and New York is $94,500 - $178,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
