Unit/Section: Community Relations
Los Angeles World Airports Community Relations Division is seeking to fill an Airport Information Specialist II (AIS II) position to perform critical functions necessary to the success of the Division. This position will act as the lead tour liaison for LAX and VNY. This position will arrange for specialized tours to meet individual groups interests, including Department personnel, community groups and stakeholders. Also, the AIS II may arrange and coordinate special tours for distinguished persons visiting the airport facilities in conjunction with other Airport Affairs divisions. In addition, the AIS II will also help plan, organize, and promote special events, community meetings, stakeholder functions, dedications, and groundbreaking ceremonies.
Note: This is an emergency appointment position and is temporary. To potentially obtain a full Civil Service appointment to this position, the successful candidate must apply for the position during the open application qualifying period, take and pass the City of Los Angeles Civil Service Exam for the position and obtain a final qualifying score.

Emergency Appointment
An emergency appointment is not a regular appointment. It is a temporary appointment which does not require that you successfully compete in the Civil Service examination process. The appointment may not exceed one year and must be terminated immediately when a regular appointment can be made from an eligible list. No emergency appointment can exceed one year. (City Charter Section 1013).
