We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager with experience working in an Avionics and real-time embedded domain, to join Thales Flight Avionics at what is an exciting time.
The successful candidate will have full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience and a good working knowledge of the DO-178B/C guidelines for developing safety-critical software used in airborne systems.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead software delivery teams across a range of projects, operating systems and development environments.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Day to day management of a software delivery team, including task assignment for team members
- Planning and estimating software tasks
- Production of software documentation e.g. Software Development Plans, Verification Plans, Release Plans
- Monitoring delivery progress and reporting to the Project Manager / Work Package Manager
- Working closely with the Software Discipline Lead to identify resourcing requirements, including supporting and developing team members
- Working closely with the Systems Engineering Manager to ensure software is delivered against project requirements
About you
- Previous experience of Software Engineering Management
- Familiar with Software Standards: RTCA - DO-178B-C, DO-330, DO-331, DO-332
- Full software development lifecycle experience
- success with delivering software packages to schedule and budget.
- Experience of Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- Experienced in Requirement analysis, Design, Coding, Testing & Configuration management,
- Experienced in Software Planning and Release
- Experienced in Real-Time embedded systems & software in Development and Testing
- Use of configuration management and change management tools e.g. Jira, GIT, BitBucket
- Ability to undertake development activities using Java / C / C++
- Experience of continuous integration tools, Jenkins
- People management experience
