Maintenance Engineer
Based at East Midlands Airport
Starting salary of £38,000 rising to £42,468 on successful completion of training and allocation of shift pattern

The role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Assets maintenance team. You will be responsible for dealing with technical and non-technical colleagues as well as communicating with several internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for carrying out effective planned, preventive and reactive engineering maintenance works in order to achieve plant reliability, performance, product quality and safety targets.
You will need to be flexible with regards to you working hours to ensure that operational commitments are fulfilled.
Typical duties will be
Troubleshooting and rectification of faults sitewide including the terminal building, plant and equipment, providing speedy responses and solutions
Identification of plant and equipment improvements that can be made to enhance efficiencies and productivity
Carry out planned and preventive maintenance works required to minimise downtime due to equipment failure, with particular emphasis on customer facing equipment
Maintain and complete records that may be required by the role; these will include, but are not confined to - job records, stores and spares requirements, health and safety documentation, timesheets, absence request forms etc.
Oversee contractors on site as required from time to time – verifying contractor Method Statements, issuing and signing off Permits to Work, carrying out audits, etc.
Any other duties that may be reasonably requested, and commensurate with his/her role, skills and experience.
You will be expected in the absence of the Engineering Team Leader to cover their day-to-day duties as required by the business
What will make you successful in the role?
You must hold a engineering qualifications to NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds level IV, BTEC Level III, ONC or HNC/D with practical applied learning of this within a operational environment
You must be Multi skilled in at least two disciplines, primarily electrical engineering, or Instrumentation & Automation.
Demonstrable experience of safe systems or work as well as the ability to work safely
Experience and competence in using all Microsoft products as well as bespoke Computerised Maintenance Systems.
Ability to work unsupervised by self and as part of a team
Must hold a valid UK driving license issued by the DVLA and satisfy the medical criteria for holding an airside-driving permit.
