WASP, is the Havant, UK site for Collins interiors. Designing and manufacturing electronic and electrical products for premium cabin interiors seating. This includes, but not limited to, lighting products, control boxes touchscreens and passenger switches. As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have several exciting positions available right now, including an Electronic Systems Engineer in our Havant facility.

The successful candidate can expect to:

  • Liaise with Engineers, Program Management, customers, internal departments, and suppliers to review and help define relevant electronic and software requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (internal and external) to ensure the electronic/electrical integration of WASP products with customer/partner systems.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot electronic and software system issues, liaising with engineers for solution implementation and testing.
  • Support the documentation process for technical specifications, test plans and reports.
  • Conduct testing of hardware and software solutions against agreed requirements.
  • Assist in the design of test equipment and test cases for hardware and software requirements.
  • Advise during new project definition of system capabilities and testing requirements.
  • Attend internal / external meetings and calls and offsite travel as required.

Key Skills:

  • A good understanding of electronic and electrical principles.
  • Ability to fault find electrical systems and diagnose PCB/SW faults.
  • An understanding of electronic comms protocols (CANBUS, RS485, USB, I2C) is desirable.
  • A basic understanding of PIC or MPLAB is desirable.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Ability to problem solve and work with limited or ambiguous data.
  • Ability to work semi-autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and professional and clear communication is essential.
  • Good understanding of an Engineering Office environment.
  • Essential application experience: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
  • Ideal application experience: Microsoft Project, Visio, JIRA (or equivalent)

What you need to succeed?

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree / HNC / HND in a suitable electronics or electrical engineering subject.
  • Technician or engineering experience in a similar industry or similar product group.
