Avelo Airlines is an up-and-coming high-value, low-fare airline making strides across the U.S. As a Payroll Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in fostering strong commitment and retention among our Crewmembers through efficient payroll processes and clear communication.

PURPOSE: The Payroll Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our diverse workforce. This position requires a strong drive for growth and a willingness to excel in a fast-paced and evolving environment. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of experience, enthusiasm, and a desire to learn and grow within our organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Crewmembers
• Play a key role in scaling the Company’s payroll infrastructure, including the development, documentation, and implementation of payroll processes.
• Maintain meticulous payroll records and documentation, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and relevant departments, providing insights and analysis as needed.
• Collaborate closely with other members of the People department to ensure seamless integration between HRIS and payroll systems, maintaining accurate data.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting and reconciliation, in collaboration with finance and accounting teams.
• Provide exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries and issues, demonstrating a commitment to resolving problems efficiently and effectively.
• Proactively engage in continuous learning and development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in payroll administration and aviation industry practices.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Proficiency in payroll software/systems (preferably Paylocity) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Drive and willingness to learn and grow within the airline industry.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, including FAA regulations, IRS guidelines, and state/local tax laws, with a commitment to maintaining compliance.
• Demonstrated experience providing analysis from disparate systems and providing concise and meaningful insights from the data.
• Highly organized, data-driven self-starter with a demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail.
• Collaborative team-oriented approach to helping others at all levels across the company.
• Always maintains confidentiality and discretion of crewmember payroll information.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.

Salary Description

$23-$26 per hour
