Accountant

Role Introduction

Reports to: Finance Business Partner - Customer

Candidate will serve as a key member of the business partnering team assisting the

Finance Business Partner in liaising with the business unit on all finance related matters

and providing financial analysis and ad hoc support to the Customer team. This role

contributes to the financial planning and analysis as well as functional finance business

partnering functionalities.

Key Responsibilities

Month End Closing and Reporting

• To ensure accurate month end closing for BUs (e.g. accounting treatment, review anomalies, use of CC/GL, follow up on monthly control and monitoring reports, fixed assets management etc). Check/clarify, follow up with BUs in case of suspicious error
• Analyse monthly operating results for management review
• Prepare monthly reports (e.g. Monthly P/L Review Pack, Balance Sheet Review Pack, Fixed asset movement schedule etc.)
• Review monthly financial result of BUs and enquire into significant fluctuations from budget
  
  

Day to Day Financial related matters, including but not limit to

• Ensure accurate record of SAP
• Provide comments and feedback on relevant SAP processes
• Provide support to BUs in relation to cost monitoring and internal cost control
• Handle enquiries from BUs and liaise with relevant parties with regards to financial issues raised by BUs
• Fixed assets management including creation, transfer, disposal and maintain fixed asset register.
• Ad hoc assignments as and when required
  
  

Budget and forecasting

• Work with BUs to validate and agree on the budget / forecast assumptions and meet with BUs to review forecast and budget numbers
• Provide analysis against comparatives
• Upload figures in SAP “Business Planning and Consolidation module” (BPC) and ensure accuracy
  
  

Annual/Interim

• Prepare relevant schedules in accordance with the Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standard and other statutory requirements
  
  

Requirements

• A degree holder in Accounting with professional designation in Accountancy preferred
• Minimum 4 years' relevant experience. Audit experience with recognized audit firms a definite plus
• Strong analytical mind, organising and interpersonal skills
• Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel
• Experience in using SAP advantageous
• Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese/Chinese
• Be self-motivated, able to work under pressure and being flexible when necessary to meet deadlines
• Willing to challenge the status quo and improve work processes
• Proactively seeks guidance and asks thoughtful questions
• Demonstrates awareness of financial factors that drive own service area
• Follows applicable financial policies & procedures
