Role And Responsibilities

Objectives of this Role

We're hiring a Powerplant Engineer for our Airline Technical Support Services Department. The role involves managing powerplants for our Clients, including engine phase in and phase out, monitoring engine condition, and conducting shop forecasts. As a Powerplant Engineer, you'll provide support to our Airline Clients, reporting to the Powerplant Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support with engine deliveries, redeliveries, Base Maintenance and Line Maintenance to CAE’s Airline Clients and internally to the Fleet Technical Management department
  • Managing and executing various Projects assigned by Powerplant Specialist
  • Liaising with CFM, IAE, Pratt & Whitney, Boeing, Airbus, Honeywell and other OEM’s on resolution of technical issues
  • Engine Health Monitoring, performance & overview in coordination with OEMs
  • Review and implementation of Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and other technical documentation
  • Identification and Implementation of solutions to reliability issues in conjunction with the client’s Reliability Department and OEMs
  • Delivery of technical reports and presentations
  • Liaison, reporting and follow up with clients on the services provided by CAE
  • Coordinate and monitor Engines & APUs maintenance visits with the MRO (Maintenance Repair Organization) and with the asset Owners – Lessors, for any technical and economical (invoice reviews, claims, etc.) issues
  • Contribute to the client’s Reliability review for technical issues related to powerplant and relevant components
  • Other complex projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Engineering Degree or EASA Part 66 maintenance license

Skills & Experience

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in an airworthiness/CAMO or fleet management role in an airline or MRO environment
  • Technical Knowledge of V2500, PW4000 & RR Trent engines is an advantage
  • Understanding of EASA Part M, Part CAMO and Part 145 regulation
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills with experience writing or reviewing technical instructions
  • Computer literate with strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities at one time and make decisions in a busy, fast-paced environment
