Provo, UT - Engine Technician - Rapid Response Team

Airframe/Engine Rapid Response Technician (RRT) travels to the customer’s location to provide AOG support and perform a variety of time-sensitive troubleshooting, inspections, modifications and repairs either at the maintenance facility or at remote locations. As a Rapid Response Technician, you will perform Airframe and/or Engine service on a variety of Turbine Jet Business Aircraft, including but not limited to Bombardier, Gulfstream, Embraer, Dassault & Textron. This position interacts with customers and collaborates with Duncan Aviation team members and managers to provide exceptional customer service. All applicants must have a valid Airframe or Powerplant license (A&P license preferred), experience with Corporate Aviation or AOG service work and experience working in remote operations.

Technicians will be based at or near one of our three main facilities in Provo Utah, Lincoln Nebraska, or Battle Creek Michigan and travel to the customers location. Technicians will also be eligible for an 8 on/ 6 off split work schedule based on adequate experience with available overtime and double-time as necessary.

Airframe Maintenance Certificate Required, as well as experience working on any/all Beechcraft Hawker, Bombardier Challenger, Bombardier Global, Bombardier Learjet, Cessna Citation, Dassault Falcon, Embraer Phenom, Legacy, Praetor, Gulfstream Astra and Gulfstream G-series Aircraft

AND/OR

Powerplant Maintenance Certificate required, as well as experience working on any/all of these engines: Honeywell TFE731, CFE738, HTF7000 series, Pratt & Whitney 300, 500, 600 and JT15 series, Williams FJ44 series, GE CF34, and Rolls Royce BR700 series. Pratt and Whitney 300 and 500 series experience is preferred but not required.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Airframe- Efficiently inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, function tests, removes, reinstalls, and returns to service of aircraft using the proper tooling and test equipment in a safe, professional, and clean manner according to manufacturer’s specifications, FAA regulations and Duncan Aviation approved procedures. Performs as an RII Inspector as required.
  • Powerplant- Efficiently inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, function tests, removes, reinstalls, and returns to service of aircraft engines and APUs using the proper tooling and test equipment in a safe, professional, and clean manner according to manufacturer’s specifications, FAA regulations and Duncan Aviation approved procedures. Performs as an RII Inspector as required.
  • Oversees, completes, and maintains accurate and timely aircraft documentation and project documentation, including: accurate parts allocation, appropriate sign-off language, accurate labor allocation, and outside services (expenses).
  • Assists with developing and maintaining relationships with customers, and communicating with sales and marketing personnel to keep customer information updated. Contacts and calls on customer for service support work to meet a high level of customer satisfaction. Responds to customer requests and issues regarding service work.
  • Communicates directly with in-house project managers, team leaders, and quality inspectors to ensure a successful, accurate, and efficient project that meets a high level of quality.
  • Manages all aspects of assigned aircraft projects to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the projects. Accepts full ownership of assigned projects from pre-planning to delivery of the aircraft through planning, prioritizing, and communicating with customers, Company personnel, OEM’s, outside contractors and vendors, as necessary. Ensures the safety and security of customer’s equipment during all maintenance phases.
  • Assists with managing and maintaining adequate and appropriate calibration of assigned tooling, working condition and cleanliness of support vehicles.
  • Be available to provide a continuation of service and be a point of contact for internal or external customers before or after scheduled hours of work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.


Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Airframe or Powerplant License required, Airframe & Powerplant license preferred
  • Four years related airframe and/or engine maintenance experience required (Relevant experience includes inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance of corporate/private aircraft airframe systems and/or turbine engines/APU and/or AOG service work previously)


Job Specific Requirements:

  • Licenses/Certificates:Airframe or Powerplant Certificate required, A&P licenses preferred; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; RII Designation eligible
  • Attendance:Regularly scheduled attendance required; multiple overnight and short notice travel
  • Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs.; occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with component maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting
  • Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and in noisy environments
