Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Shops, the Manager will maintain aircraft work schedules with Avionics Repair.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize operational goals and draw from maintenance and engineering department any resources needed to ensure the integrity of the airline operation. He / she will also work closely with materials and supply to assure the parts required are available.
  • Manage strategic goals for in-shop repairs while ensuring ratables support is in place for timely and accurate return to service of components
  • Manage the repair, overhaul, or modification of aircraft parts/components as necessary to include communications with the Vendor Performance team ensuring outsourced items are tracked and returned to service on time. Act as a vendor liaison to the supply department
  • Oversight of training requirements so personnel are properly trained, qualified and authorized for their assigned duties and familiar with applicable manuals, tools and procedures
  • Create SOP’s and enforce as necessary to ensure safe, repeatable and consistent work habits within the Avionic Repair department workforce
  • Ensure tracking of Ultipro and oversight on vacation/work schedules is accomplished
  • Plan/Create/Revise Annual shop budgets. Ensure budgets are met in accordance with yearly benchmarks Explain variances when they occur on a monthly basis with our budget team
  • Ensure the work place meets all safety and environmental compliance requirements
  • Ensure daily correspondence with Avionic Repair Leads
  • Work with any other Shop,Office, or Department within the HAL Team to accomplish the mission
  • Maintain TRAX compliance, training compliance as well as administer the overtime program and reports
  • Oversee assigned department budgets and monitor expenses. Responsible for monthly varience reports both financial as well as aircraft schedule deviations. Manage monthly overtime useage and reporting
  • DOT regulations, 14 CFR part 120 identifies this position as performing safety-sensitive functions. You will be required to undergo DOT pre-employment drug testing to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, PCP (Phencyclidine) and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into this position
  • Attends: Optimization oversight committee Maintenance Reliability Board and CASS Board
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Requires Airframe and Powerplant license
  • 3 years management experience required
  • 3 years work experience in maintenance or related industry
  • Experience in overseeing budgets and vendor management
  • Must have good leadership qualities, good judgment and the ability to deal with fellow employees
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and be able to get a ramp license
  • Requires travel and working flexible shifts

Failure to submit to testing or positive indications of drug use will render the applicant ineligible for employment with Hawaiian Airlines and any employment offer will be withdrawn.
  • In addition to routine employment eligibility verification, U.S.-based airlines must gather information to validate country of citizenship and country of birth. Upon hire, you must provide documentation proving your current country of citizenship and birthplace.

Please note that the provided salary information serves as a general guideline. Our salary is determined by a candidate's experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. The expected pay range is $104,000 - $128,000.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B717, B767, B787, A321, and A330 experience preferred.
  • Experience in a FAR part 121 operation.
  • Previous IAM management experience.
  • College Degree
  • Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
