Crane Aerospace & Electronics has an exciting career opportunity for a Quality Engineer II at our Chandler, AZ facility.

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Quality Manager. The Quality Engineer is responsible for, in partnership with the Quality Management Team, establishing the continuous improvement strategy to support the organization’s quality and cost reduction goals.  In addition, this position will ensure that the site meets both internal and external customer expectations. This position will continually analyze and quantify quality deficiencies using a defined cost of poor quality model along with other key metrics to prioritize and identify the most critical areas of impact to bottom line and customer satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert analysis, guidance and support in process improvement activities, including effective use of problem solving tools / techniques and statistical analysis.
  • Drive timely root cause analysis and implementation of permanent/preventative corrective actions for quality issues working directly with product teams, manufacturing teams, suppliers and customers.
  • Champion operational excellence techniques such as SPC, DOE, Lean, Six Sigma to drive continuous quality improvements in the manufacturing area.
  • Define and capture Process Capability data for analysis and implementation of process controls and improvements.
  • Perform internal audits to improve processes and ensure readiness for audits by external parties
  • Participate in audits with AS9100/ISO 9001:2000 Registrar and Customer Auditors.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 0-5 years related and relevant experience as a Quality Engineer
  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of electronic processes and components. Hybrid manufacturing experience a plus. 
  • Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 Systems
  • Technical ability to review, understand, and interpret documentation, drawings and specifications, in accordance with military standards and customer requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of organization
  • Eligibility Requirement:  This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
