Warehouse Supervisor

The Warehouse / Stores Supervisor is responsible for stores employees, operations and processes of warehouse/inventory and overseeing goods receiving including storing, picking & packing and distributing goods internally to achieve short and long term goals and KPI’s.

Your focus areas include:

• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the receiving and warehouse/inventory activities to run the business effectively and to ensure all inventory levels are accurately documented and communicated.
• Monitors and evaluates the safety of each employee on a daily basis and when required coaches and mentors individuals to ensure they follow safe working practices.
• Responsible for the quality control of incoming goods/material and taking appropriate actions including returns to suppliers.
• Collaborates closely with relevant internal teams to ensure stock levels are constantly monitored in line with Days on Hand data, minimum/maximum stock levels are adhered to, and targets and applicable business KPI’s are met.
• Communicates with internal & external customers on irregularities and takes corrective actions.
• Manage the storage, inventory practices (FIFO) and QA put away guidelines according to Gate Gourmet policy and procedures.
• Provide analysis, suggestions and ideas of the improvement of operations within the department and facility.

We are interested in speaking with individuals who possess:

• Warehousing experience preferably within a food related environment.
• Experience in managing a Warehousing team.
• Demonstrated commercial awareness skills with the ability to contribute to the wider business process outside the functional responsibilities.
• Has a Forklift license or is willing to obtain one.
• This is a key supervisory role within a complex environment where the incumbent will be required to act independently, make decisions and use their experience and initiative.
• Strong planning skills supported by the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
• Well-developed communication, written and verbal, and influencing skills.
• Availability to work a 24/7-day roster across mornings & afternoon shifts.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications are highly regarded.
