Collins Aerospace is currently seeking student engineers to support Continuous Improvement, utilizing our CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) methodology, to drive improvement initiatives for our Goodrich Hoist & Winch product line, based in Anaheim, CA. This site is undergoing a transformation, and there are many opportunities for improving our processes to ultimately optimize customer satisfaction and business financial performance. This is truly a great opportunity for making a big impact on the business and it’s functional processes. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June to December; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2024.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of Continuous Improvement strategies supporting aggressive business goals.
  • Ability to apply and assist the application and use of lean principles and tools toward developing the organization in the least waste way.
  • Nurture an environment that enables real time problem identification and resolution.
  • Identify and remove barriers to implementation of Continuous Improvement
  • Develop the understanding and skills to assist with hands on education, training and application of Continuous Improvement principles and tools.
  • Assist in all lean transformation efforts throughout the business processes.
  • Assist with the necessary follow-up actions to close out to-do actions after CI events.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completed Sophomore year in college prior to commencement of role
  • Knowledge of lean principles, six sigma or Toyota production system is beneficial
  • Ability to make sound business decisions
  • Strong personal commitment to CI
  • Self-starter with strong communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence and direct others towards CI goals and objectives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
