The role
We are seeking an experienced project manager to deliver Transmit/Receive Module (TRM) capabilities into a range of surveillance and fire control radar projects within the Radar and Advanced Targeting Line of Business. Working within the AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) CDT (Core Delivery Team) you shall lead multi-disciplinary sub-teams and interface with supporting functions to deliver the performance, time and cost requirements of internal stakeholder IPTs. You shall join the CDT Management Team with an influential role on the team’s continuous improvement and employee satisfaction, which will challenge and evolve your personal leadership skills.
What You Will Do As a Lead PM
You shall be responsible for a number of concurrent TRM delivery projects spanning the lifecycle phases from requirements generation to delivery. This will involve but not be limited to
- Engage with internal stakeholders to define TRM requirements in support of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) forecasts.
- Evolve TRM requirements into TRM delivery project scope of work with robust cost and schedule estimates.
- Tender Vet TRM delivery project plans to establish cost budgets and schedule baselines.
- Set-up, launch and execute SAP plans for TRM delivery projects.
- Generate, monitor and control TRM delivery project milestones and performance metrics.
- Capture and manage risks and opportunities impacting performance, time or cost requirements.
- Capture and resolve issues impacting performance, time or cost requirements.
- Project performance reporting into stakeholder IPTs monthly.
- Product cost reporting into Product Cost Review Board (PCRB) forums quarterly.
- Adherence to business processes, security and governance requirements.
- Technical support to sub-contracts and engineering interface with manufacturing.
- Experience across design for manufacture and cost
You shall be able to demonstrate competencies commensurate to the Senior Project Management role, in particular
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and build good working relationships throughout the team, supporting functions and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a results focused attitude with attention to detail on the enablers and blockers influential to project success.
- Demonstrate self-motivation to get things done and to influence others as required.
What We Need From You
You shall ideally be degree qualified in an engineering or business related discipline supported by an Association for Project Management (APM) professional qualification or equivalent. You shall have proven experience of project management roles ideally in the Leonardo or Defence equipment environment, in particular
- Experience of SAP project and production systems, ideally able to update and interrogate underlying SAP data.
- Experience of project estimating, planning and budget control, ideally in line with Leonardo company practices.
- Experience of financial monitoring and reporting, ideally in line with Leonardo company practices.
- Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams and influencing support functions.
- Competent in the use of the standard suite of office tools i.e MS Office applications, in particular, Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
