Salary: £41,361 – £45,576 depending on skills and experience

What You’ll Be Doing

We are looking for Junior Systems Engineers with demonstrable industry experience , to complement our highly skilled and growing teams, working on cutting edge air defence projects. As a Junior Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to be involved in complex engineering projects through all stages of their lifecycle, from concept to delivery. We lead the integration of systems to deliver high quality engineering solutions that meet our customers needs.

A Systems Engineering role will provide a broad understanding of our engineering activities and offer the opportunity to work across many of the engineering disciplines that are necessary to design and develop our Systems of Systems platforms.

  • You will be working as part of an established systems engineering team and will be working closely and in collaboration with experienced systems engineers
  • You will use your sound engineering knowledge and experience to propose and develop solutions to problems throughout our product development cycle
  • You will play a key role in bringing components and systems together to form a System of Systems.
  • You’ll manage aspects of engineering, delivering them to high standards through ensuring good engineering practice and governance
  • You’ll understand and manage the maturity of our engineering solutions as they develop and you take corrective action to ensure our products are the best they can be
  • You can specialise in areas such as System Architecting, System Design, Configuration Control, Requirements Management or Qualification
  • You will lead the integration of engineering across all aspects of Air platforms & products, covering all stages in the engineering lifecycle – from concept to delivery

Essential

Your skills and experiences:

  • Degree educated in an acceptable Engineering subject, supported by some engineering experience. Acceptable degrees are mathematics, physics, aerospace/aeronautical engineering, electrical/electronic engineering, general engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering and computer systems
  • Awareness of Systems Engineering activities involved in the development of complex systems across engineering lifecycles
  • Excellent communication and IT skills

Desirable

  • You should also ideally have experience of working with engineering development tools (e.g. Atlassian/Jira, MATLAB, Simulink, Cameo, IBM DOORS, PLM Teamcenter).
  • Experience of Model Based Engineering approaches and the supporting methods and toolsets
