Job Summary

Reporting to the Benefits Manager, the Benefits Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the US health and welfare programs as well as provide billing/invoice support. This role, based at our office in Raleigh, NC, will provide tactical support for employees and vendors as well as prepare benefits bills for payment and benefits bills reconciliations. The position will also perform other duties as assigned.

The expected pay rate is $26-$29/hr. Full-time employees are offered a range of health and wellness benefits as well as 401(k) with company match paid vacation time, sick time, and company paid holidays.

Your activities

  • Provides customer service and guidance to station HR and employees on benefits policies and processes and follows up on incomplete or inaccurate information that is submitted.
  • Assists in auditing and reconciling employee data across various systems to ensure data integrity and accurate and timely benefits coverage.
  • Create and maintain dynamic spreadsheets and calculators to support benefit bill processes.
  • Assists with both internal and external audits to ensure complete, timely and accurate responses to information requests.
  • Process company transfers to ensure benefit continuation for employees.
  • Partners with third party vendors in the daily administration of benefits programs.
  • Performs initial preparation and/or reconciliation of billing statements again recent enrollments and changes. Receives, validates, and processes payment of invoices.
  • Processes paid time off plan balance transfers and adjustments and assists with the daily maintenance of plans. Reviews and audits accruals and usage to ensure correct balances.
  • Administers various benefit programs including tuition reimbursement and company perk programs, including employee dependent verification for travel incentives.
  • Provides administrative support for the benefits and leave of absence team.
  • Must maintain discretion and confidentiality working with highly sensitive information

Your profile

  • Knowledge of and experience with HRIS systems (Lawson preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software, with an strong emphasis on Excel
  • Three years benefits, HR, accounting, or related experience required. IVALUA experience strongly preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in HR or related field preferred, experience considered in lieu of degree
