Are you looking to join a world-class business aviation company?
Our clients finance department is growing and they are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team.
  
You will be responsible for:
  • Liaising with the Head of Finance on the day-to-day operations.
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records.
  • Assisting in the month end process leading to the submission of accurate monthly management accounts in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the posting of invoices and journals in our accounting software tool.
  • Preparation and submitting of VAT returns on a timely basis.
  • Ensuring financial recording is in line with VAT legislation.
  • Perform reconciliations related to the Finance department.
  • Drafting of policies and procedures.
  • Preventive Controls and Review Controls.
  • Liaising with and supporting external auditors as may be required and assisting in the preparation of the financial statements.
  • Assist the Head of Finance in the budgeting process.
  • Coordinating with the Head of Finance in the implementation of new projects related to Finance.
  • Assisting the Head of Finance and the team with any ad-hoc requests.
Desired skills and experience:
  • A University degree in Accountancy or ACCA is a must for this role.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • An ability to work to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks on an individual and team basis, as applicable.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships, both in the immediate team and wider business.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to deal efficiently with different internal departments and external counterparts.
  • Competence in Excel, general IT and accounting packages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Previous experience working in Aviation industry will be preferred
  • Confident, motivated and self-sufficient.
  • Flexible and comfortable with a broad variety of duties.
  • Proactive, emotionally intelligent individual with great people skills and keen eye for detail.
  • Strong values combined with a readiness to challenge convention.
You must hold the right to live and work in Malta to be considered for this role.
