Hardware Quality Engineer

Job Description

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is currently looking for a Hardware Quality Engineer with 5-10 years’ experience. This is a Direct opportunity in Chatsworth, CA for an Electronics company.

Salary: $90K

Mission

Manage the company’s quality systems in support of minimizing escapes and continuously improving manufacturing yields.

Responsibilities
 
  1. Provide timely resolution to customer inquiries.
  2. Returned Material Authorization (RMA) coordination and disposition.
  3. Corrective Action Report (ICAR, CCAR, SCAR) generation and coordination.
  4. Perform scheduled internal quality system audits and process audits.
  5. Perform AS9102 First Article articles when required.
  6. Maintain calibration system.
  7. Maintain all quality/performance certifications such as: AS9100; MIL-DTL-7788; etc.
  8. Maintain quality procedures, quality assurance instructions and process control procedures to conform to all applicable customer requirements, industry standards and registration systems.
  9. Utilization of SPC and MSA to ensure process capabilities and control.
  10. Technical Review Board (TRB) involvement when required.
  11. Maintain calibration system.
  12. Follow all safety policies and guidelines.

Qualifications
 
  1. Thorough understanding of quality management systems and management thereof
  2. Understanding of current military and customer specifications and requirements
  3. Ability to read, interpret and work from customer specifications and standards.
  4. Working knowledge of panel and keyboard light measurements preferred.
  5. Understanding of standard quality and statistical measurements, including SPC, DOE, CPK, etc.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  7. Computer literate, able to utilize Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio and Access.
  8. Ability to utilize Discus and Net Inspect software for generating first article reports.
  9. BSEE, BSME or BSQA preferred.
  10. Minimum 3 years experience in cockpit interface instrumentation manufacturing industry.
  11. Minimum 3 years experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control disciplines.
  12. IPC-A-610 certification.
  13. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and Certified Quality Auditor certification preferred.
  14. Must be able to pass customer or FTG specified eye examinations.

Working Conditions
 
  1. May be exposed to chemicals, dust, and high noise levels.
  2. May be required to work in a clean room environment.
  3. May be required to remain on call during some portion of off shift hours.  May be required to work off shift hours and overtime.
  4. May be required to travel within North American.
