Reporting to the Finance Manager – Flight Operations, this role entails supporting all accounting activities related to Fuel, Crew, Navigation, and Disruption costs, along with internal and external financial reporting.

You will work closely with Operations Finance and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and insightful information is consistently provided.

Responsibilities include owning current costs, delivering month-end activities, analysing data to enhance cost understanding, and collaborating on cost-saving initiatives. Additionally, you will partner with Operations Finance, the wider business, and Group Financial Reporting to demonstrate full ownership and understanding of the cost base. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of the financial control framework and drive strategic plans forward.

What You Need To Do The Role

We are seeking a qualified accountant with a knack for navigating large, dynamic entities with ease. Your forte lies in exceptional analytical skills, adept at unravelling intricate variances and understanding their underlying drivers.

Effective communication and adeptness in challenging stakeholders of all levels are vital. You will have a proven track record in digesting and interpreting accounting complexities across balance sheets, cash flows, and P&L statements, translating them into actionable insights for operational support with meticulous attention to detail.

As a self-starter, you exhibit high motivation to drive initiatives forward, consistently offering solutions for continuous improvement. Bridging the gap between finance and non-financial stakeholders will come naturally to you, all while embodying proactive teamwork. Proficiency in Excel, including basic macros, and experience with Planning Analytics are highly desired. LOCATION & HOURS OF WORK

This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend three days per week in the office.
