Job Description

Johnson Service Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer for our St. Charles, IL office. This position will provide support for local siting and zoning, facility design and permitting, and stormwater modeling. Additionally this role will support construction oversight, operations and maintenance, hydrogeologic and geotechnical investigations, environmental compliance audits, facility closure and redevelopment plans, solid waste planning and public education, and environmental site assessments and remediation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading teams or projects 
  • Providing technical oversight and quality control 
  • Anticipating client needs and identifying solutions 
  • Utilizing skills and knowledge to solve complex problems 
  • Preparing engineering calculations and supporting analyses 
  • Developing design plans and reports 
  • Preparing and managing scopes, budgets and schedules 
  • Coordinating with contractors and clients
Qualifications:
  • BS/MS Environmental or Civil Engineering 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License 
  • 10-20 years of Landfill / Solid Waste (LFG) experience 
  • Ability to work on multidisciplinary project work 
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, and ArcGIS software
  • Knowledge of landfill operations and solid waste projects
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations
