Position Summary

As a Senior Accountant in our US Holding company, you will be responsible for supporting a wide range of accounting and project activities.  You will perform journal entries, support customer receivable cash applications, and tax workpaper support requests. There will be an emphasis on support of US finance projects and preparation of various reports. You will be collaborating closely with the line of business operational staff, finance staff, and external business partners. This is a hybrid role, working at least three times weekly from the office, out of our Teterboro, NJ location at the Teterboro airpark. The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range will be as follows: $82,500 - $95,000.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate accounting and/or finance experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with command of the English language
  • Autonomous, well organized, detail oriented, and accurate
  • Experience with cross-functional teamwork across organizations with business operations stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple geographical time zones among a vast landscape of multi-layered global organizational hierarchies.
  • Able to meet deadlines and demonstrate effective follow-up on assigned tasks.
  • Must be knowledgeable and proficient in Excel (intermediate level) to create and maintain various schedules/reports.
  • Must have experience in other Microsoft Office Suite of products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
  • Must be able to pass a ten-year background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform general accounting activities, including maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets, and profit-and-loss statements.
  • Support various finance and operational projects impacting the US region.
  • Assist with special inquiries from Group Finance in Basel and GD ad-hoc requests (ie. Year-end disclosure analysis)
  • Post GD cash sweep transactions into SAP to record daily cash movements.
  • Work with supervisor and GD Tax department to prepare various quarterly and annual tax schedules.
  • Prepare tax reporting to ensure compliance with applicable tax statutes.
  • Provide backup support to A/R cash applications team to record customer payments.
  • Execute customer compliance and vendor compliance to screen business partners.
  • Prepare excel reports and PowerPoint presentations for management review.
  • Prepare other ad-hoc reports as requested.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as needed.

Desired Characteristics

  • 2 years corporate tax experience (compliance, controversy or consulting is acceptable) is preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
