Internship Design Engineering for Nacelle Components out of CFRP

In contrast to competitors who only maintain according to the manufacturer's manual, we develop our own repair processes to be more economical and advance technology. Here, an interdisciplinary team with flat hierarchies is looking for motivated students for responsible tasks.

The start of the internship is planned to start by arrangement for 6 months. The internship is remunerated.

Tasks

The Airframe Related Components segment of Aircraft Component Services deals with the overhaul and repair of engine cowlings, thrust reversers, flight controls, radomes and other components made of fiberreinforced composites.

The Operations Engineering & Planning team would like to give you a deep insight into the engineering tasks.

Support in:

• Reverse engineering process (material and functional analysis)
• Development of repair procedures for sandwich components made of carbon fiber reinforced plastics
• Technical evaluation of material substitution
• Design of production data using CAD and modern technical tools (PlyCutter, laser projector)
• Preparation of repair instructions
• Monitoring of production processes
• Airworthy repair approval (EASA 21J)

Requirements

Do you want to work independently on the repair and overhaul of high-performance composite components for the aviation industry? With us, you can experience and help design every step directly on the component.

• At the date of the internship you have completed your 3rd semester of studies
• Enrollment for the entire period of the internship (current enrollment certificate must be attached to the application) or internship between the Bachelor and Master studies (Gap Year)
• Familiarity with CAD systems
• Sound knowledge of composite materials
