Summary
The Assistant Manager of Dispatch will have shared responsibility for the overall operation of the Aircraft Dispatch Department. They will instill an atmosphere of cooperation between the Dispatchers and the Pilots and continue to maintain a professional environment. They are also responsible to ensure Dispatchers operate in a manner that is safe, compliant, and efficient. Succession of the Manager of Dispatch duties and responsibilities goes to the Assistant Manager of Dispatch, in their absence.

Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education:  High School Diploma/GED
Certification:  Yes
Certification Details:  Aircraft Dispatch Certificate
Years of Experience:  
•Minimum two (2) years of Dispatch experience.
•Minimum one (1) year of managerial experience.

•Ability to read, write, and speak English to receive and understand instructions, directives, and ensure safety, as well as the ability to interact with customers, is a requirement of the job.
•Professional Demeanor.
•Ability to think on your feet.
•SIDA Badge eligible.
•Complete understanding of applicable FAR’s and ATC procedures.
•Computer literate.

Preferred Requirements
•Bachelor's degree.

Job Duties
•Maintain FAA-required record keeping.
•Assist in plan development for proper staffing of Dispatch to allow for adequate preparation and execution of all Dispatch releases and related Dispatch functions and that during shift change there is continuous coverage of all flights.
•Monitor the operation to ensure all Dispatchers fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the Company and federal regulations.
•Monitor the Dispatch operation by providing direction and support as needed.
•Maintain a caring and open dialog with Team Members and Crewmembers.
•Assist with performance reviews of Dispatch Team Members.
•Assist in processing payroll timesheets for all Dispatchers and Coordinators.
•Assist the OCC Managers and Dispatch Coordinators for best handling of the daily operation.
•Search for new technological developments to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes in the operation.
•Interview, hire and manage Allegiant Air Dispatchers and Dispatch Coordinators.
•Assist in tracking and ensuring that all dispatchers are current and qualified.
•Motivate a staff of professionals and recognize the importance the Dispatch Department staff plays in the success of Allegiant Air.
•Develop and improve policies and procedures for the dispatch department.
•Assist with scheduling all Dispatchers in accordance with FAR 121.683 (duty limitations) and ensure compliance.
•Ensure all aircraft dispatchers meet the qualifications per FAR 121.463 (Aircraft Dispatcher Qualifications).
•Assist in tracking that all Competency Checks are scheduled and completed.
•Council and issue discipline to Aircraft Dispatchers and Dispatch Coordinators as needed.
•Assist in the documentation of all dispatch personnel counseling.
•Ensure OCC facilities are adequate and maintained in good order. Communicate with the Manager of Dispatch regarding any deficiencies or need for corrective action to ensure the OCC facility is adequate to maintain a safe operation.
•Develop, revise, and maintain compliant OCC policies and procedures.
•Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities as appropriate.
•Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction.
•Other duties as assigned.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
