Role Introduction

Reports to: Head of Global Sales

To actively support Global Sales, Hong Kong and GBA Sales and the SND team, by designing, and interpreting the relevant reports as well as sales tools to support decision making and revenue generation across the CX Network and to implement and drive incentive strategy to support network revenue generation and productivity improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence Solutions and Analytical Tool Management

  • Devise strategies through data insights and develop reports to identify and drive opportunities for various market segments and agency types
  • Maintain awareness and relevant domain knowledge and competitive landscape
  • Develop and improve internal and external scorecards to monitor and drive business
  • Manage and drive port adoption of business intelligence tools, such as DDS and MIDT
  • Evaluate ROI and improve value of managed tools being delivered to business
  • Devise improvement to managed tools based on understanding of business needs and priorities
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on generation and use of reports based on data from managed tools
  • Ensure accurate and timely performance reports/dashboards are developed and delivered to stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Initiate and lead business intelligence projects to improve usage of data analytics to identify insights

Incentive Management

  • Evaluate COS / ROI and devise strategy to improve value of incentives being remunerated to agencies system-wide
  • Devise and develop incentive model design and future automation
  • Roll out incentive model and negotiation of PoS budget for sales incentives
  • Manage the overall network-wide agency / corporate incentive budget and the regional allocation
  • Enforce correct tracking of all incentives
  • Responsible for incentive management through regular reporting and performance review
  • Mine incentive performance data to identify sales development opportunities with key stakeholders

General

  • Provide oversight on the management and performance driving of General Sales Agents
  • Engage in supplementary and ad hoc sales development reporting, business intelligence projects and studies

People Development and Performance Management

  • Lead, support and encourage own team to achieve success
  • Build a strong and motivated team, ensuring the right organisational structure and the right people are in place to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork
  • Supervise and mentor direct reports, encouraging effective collaboration
  • Demonstrate leadership and lead by example in accordance with Cathay’s core values
  • Develop employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development
  • Maintain active and ongoing dialogue in relation to employee goals and individual performance
  • Actively engage with employees to enhance communication and their understanding of department goals
  • Enhance the employee experience in line with the role level.

Requirements

  • Experience in business intelligence management and reporting tools, with 5 years in management level
  • Expert analytical capabilities and commercial acumen
  • Experience in airline market intelligence tools such as DDS and MIDT
  • Results driven with proven ability to influence internal stakeholders / external clients
  • Strong command in analytical and visualization tools e.g. Excel, Access, PowerBI, QlikView, QlikSense
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • University degree (preferably in related disciplines) with minimum 8 years' working experience
  • Experience in Agency / Airline Sales / Digital Sales is preferable, ideally with APAC / Chinese airline market
