Job Description

Johnson Service Group, a nationally award-winning staffing firm, is looking to hire a Warehouse and Logistics Manager for a biotech manufacturing company in Carlsbad, CA.

This role is Direct Hire | Onsite | The salary range for this position is between $120K - $150K Candidate must have authorization to work with in the US as our client cannot offer current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of distribution and logistics functions within a GMP/GDP supply chain environment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Project Management, QA/QC, Finance, and Operations to achieve business objectives and drive process enhancements.
  • Demonstrate mastery in utilizing our ERP system and managing item attributes pertinent to supply chain requirements.
  • Effectively manage various inventory types including non-stock, stock, consigned, and customer-owned, providing necessary information to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing and Finance to uphold inventory health, updating practices and procedures as necessary.
  • Directly manage departments responsible for receiving, material movement, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Ensure timely delivery of both domestic and international shipments through metric-driven continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the creation and upkeep of documentation for import and export activities.
  • Act as a self-motivated leader with a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, particularly in regulated distribution and logistics settings.
  • Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills and a talent for team building, with the ability to inspire and influence others effectively.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during regulatory audits, including those conducted by FDA, ISO, and other relevant authorities.
  • Conduct thorough analyses while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of organizational challenges and solutions.
  • Align warehouse operations and manpower strategically to meet Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives while addressing internal and external customer requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the selection, training, development, appraisal, and task assignments of Finance, Human Resource, and Facility personnel.
  • Directly supervise a team of up to 15 employees.
Requirements:
  • MS/BS/BA in Supply Chain/Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
  • 5 years of managerial experience.
  • Prior experience in managing complex supply chain processes within medical device, biopharmaceutical, or life science manufacturing sectors.
  • Familiarity with shipping operations, including kitting in distribution activities.
  • Proficiency in MRP system software.
  • Strong background in warehouse and inventory management, shipping and receiving, including handling hazardous materials.
  • Proven skills in inventory control, cycle count management, distribution planning, receiving activities, warehouse material management, and implementing Lean concepts for continuous improvement.
