Tasks

As a senior data architect in the commercial domain, you are a key player in creating real impact by delivering data and value to business partners within Lufthansa Group.

• Design & Strategy: Support the overarching data architecture vision
• System Implementation: Select and deploy data platforms (data warehouses, data lakes, cloud solutions)
• Data Integrity & Standards: Establish rigorous data quality protocols, ensuring accuracy and reliability of critical aviation data
• Security & Compliance: Safeguard sensitive data, adhering to aviation industry regulations and privacy standards (GDPR, etc.)
• Mentoring: Guide and upskill junior data team members
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders in engineering, operations, maintenance, and business units
• Project Management: Oversee complex data architecture projects
• Staying Ahead of the Curve: Research, evaluate, and introduce emerging data technologies and trends

Requirements

• Bachelors/Masters degree
• Proven experience in data architecture design, implementation & maintenance
• Deep understanding of data modeling concepts, data warehousing & ETL processes
• Proficiency in SQL & database technologies (both relational and NoSQL)
• Strong cloud computing experience (Azure, GCP)
• Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
• Ability to analyze complex data sets & translate business requirements into effective architectural designs
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills & a solution-oriented mindset
• Experience in performance optimization & troubleshooting data-related issues
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical & non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
