Business Control Team Lead – Flight Operations

 

About the Position: As a Business Control Team Lead – Flight Operations at SAS, you will play a key role in increasing cost efficiency and financial transparency for one of Scandinavia's most dynamic and challenging businesses. You will lead a team of Business and Financial Controllers to support line operations and achieve set goals within Flight Operations. Reporting to the Head of Business Control, you will act as a business partner to the management to ensure that strategic and tactical goals are achieved.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and engage your team of Business and Financial Controllers.
  • Support the Head of Flight Operations and Accountable Manager in matters related to financial control, reporting, and results.
  • Be responsible for the business unit's ongoing management reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Develop and refine key performance indicators, decision support, and analyses.
  • Project manage and support change projects to increase efficiency.
  • Support negotiations with benchmarks and analyses.
  • Develop reporting and system support for operational monitoring.
  • Support and educate managers to strengthen financial monitoring and understanding.

Qualifications Required:

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Control or similar, e.g., from "Big4" or consulting background.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and working closely with senior leaders.
  • Experience in an operational environment with a high pace and many interfaces, preferably from the airline industry.
  • Strong integrity coupled with the capacity to question and actively engage in business operations, offering valuable insights and perspectives.
  • University degree in economics or similar at least at bachelor's level.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools such as PowerBI.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Proficiency in a Scandinavian language is highly preferable, but not a requirement.

 

Location and Application: The position is full-time and based in Frösundavik, Solna, with travel a few times per year primarily to Arlanda, Oslo, and Copenhagen.
