VivaAerobus is currently searching for a Legal Business Partner to be based at the corporate headquarters in Mexico City or Monterrey.

This position is accountable for adding value and being the "backbone" of our business. This position will ensure that the department always operates within the law, provides advice on legal issues, creates an effective guardian of the organization, and facilitates the development of business strategies. The successful candidate will be able to ensure legal compliance and limit risk exposure.

Business acumen, people advocacy, strategic aptitude, excellent legal criteria and data analytics skills, and excellent stakeholder management are crucial

Key responsibilities:

• A good understanding of the legal issues that affect the organization and of the "risk map", which includes the organization’s risk appetite and that of the individual business unit(s);
• The ability to connect the business and legal knowledge to work out both what law affects which parts of the business, when and how; and to work out how to use Contracts, Advice, and Training ("CAT") to ensure that the relevant business people understand the legal issues that affect their roles and that they can act on this understanding;
• Excellent customer service skills
• Establish and maintain internal governance policies and manage the impact of external factors.
• Evaluate and weigh the reasoning behind any decision or course of action.
• Anticipate problems and strategically estimate risks.
• Identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate risks.
• Base your decision-making process on legality, ethics, and integrity.
• Create trusting and respectful partnerships with key stakeholders.
• Deal with external parties (regulators, external advisors, politicians, customers).
• Attract, develop, manage, motivate, and drive team performance.
• Draft agreements that minimize risks and maximize legal rights.
• Meet legal objectives.
• Deal with complex and significant issues spanning legal and related areas.
• Keep abreast of legislative changes.
• Qualifications and Skills
• Proven experience as general counsel in a business environment.
• Road general legal knowledge (corporate law, litigation, employment law, etc.).
• In-depth understanding of how legal issues affect organizations.
• Ability to develop legal strategies and objectives.
• Well-versed in how businesses operate with financial acumen.
• High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and reliability.
• Excellent judgment and analytical skills.
• First-class interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ideal experience / qualifications:

• Proved experience in similar positions in diverse industries, Airline experience will be a plus.
• 6+ years of Legal experience in a business-facing role or an Executive or directive position in legal.
• Strong employee relations experience.
• English : Advanced proficiency required
