Performs a combination of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team for projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility. Applies experience and detailed knowledge to plan and accomplish assignments. Reviews and manages incoming and outgoing correspondence for applicability, appropriate routing, accuracy, and format. Maintains the automated mail control program to log, edit, and query all correspondence. Works closely with lines of business and staff offices as well as the Administrator's Correspondence office, to-ensure controls are answered in a timely manner. Maintains an awareness of the latest trends in office management and office technology.
Demonstrates some independence in planning time and using assigned resources to accomplish tasks or small projects. Overall objectives and resources available for projects / studies / reports are established by the supervisor in collaboration with the New England Regional Administrator. Assists the New England Regional Administrator by completing assigned projects and studies. May serve as a team member on small projects and studies. Upon request, assembles, summarizes, analyzes and assists with presenting data with recommendations for required action to the New England Regional Administrator. Works in a team environment to ensure continuous support coverage for the New England Regional Administrator's Office. Provides administrative support at meetings as identified by the New England Regional Administrator. Coordinates conferences and assists with regional programs and other special events.
Provides administrative liaison support as needed, for assigned responsibilities between regional and national offices within the FAA; other Federal agencies; local and state government offices; and private organizations. Contacts are primarily internal to the organizational unit, major subdivision, or LOB/SO with a manager and other employees to share information, provide data and/or written analyses, and/or explain the statuses of assignments. Coordinates travel plans and manages calendar for meetings, conferences, teleconferences, etc., and ensures detailed itineraries are completed, briefing materials are ready, and follow-up actions are tracked.
Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments but allow some discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es). Interprets policy on their own initiative in terms of established objectives. Refers problems and work issues to a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional when guidelines are not available or applicable. New England Regional Administrator is kept informed of progress and potentially controversial matters. Work typically is reviewed frequently during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness, policy compliance, and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities.

TO QUALIFY AT THE FV-F (FG/GS 5-9) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least three (3) years of progressively responsible general work experience demonstrating the ability to analyze problems to identify factors, gather pertinent data/information, recognize problems and/or solutions, plan and organize work and effective communication. At least one (1) year of experience must be equivalent to the FG/GS-4 level work in the administrative, professional, technical, investigative or comparable work area.

Education Substitution: Successful completion of a full 4 year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, gained from an accredited college or university.

TO QUALIFY AT THE FV-G (FG/GS 10-11) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level of FV-F (FG/GS 5-9). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized Experience is: demonstrated skill in using computer software applications to prepare spreadsheets, correspondence, presentations, graphs, etc.
