L3Harris Training Services play a key role on delivering the L3Harris Commercial Aviation Solutions goal of ‘Creating Safer Skies’. From our computer-based solutions all the way to our state-of-the-art Full Flight Simulators (FFS), improving the training experiencing and creating safer skies is at the heart of everything we do. Our Fixed Training Devices (FTD) and FFS feature aircraft-specific flight decks, offering the form, fit, feel, and function of the actual aircraft.
The CAA / EASA ATPL syllabus of Theoretical Knowledge is an integral part of the course leading to issue of an ATPL license. The course includes a minimum of 750 hours of instruction, delivered in accordance with the CAA / EASA ratified training manual(s) along with 13 formal exams set by the CAA / EASA and assessments under Area 100 KSA (Knowledge, Skills and Attitude)
Overall responsibilities:
• To teach a range of CAA / EASA ATPL subjects
• To prepare and update CAA / EASA ATPL course materials in accordance with the latest syllabus, and to make changes in anticipation of future syllabus changes
• To assess and act as an internal moderator in appropriate subject areas
• To prepare, invigilate and moderate appropriate CAA / EASA ATPL Theoretical Knowledge exams
• To monitor and report on trainee progress
• To provide guidance and support to individual trainees
• To maintain accurate course records
As experience allows:
• To act as course mentor on a rotor basis, to be Single Point of Contact (SpoC) for specific courses
• To act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and/or SPoC in specific subject areas, to coordinate the enhancement of courseware, and ensure consistency of delivery of specific subjects
Essential requirements:
• Instructional experience
• Aviation experience, either as flight crew, or in a role which gives the required background knowledge to be able to deliver syllabus lessons with credibility.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact well with trainees.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and carry out assignments to completion.
• International outlook with the ability to deal comfortably with various cultures.
• Strong organisational and customer service skills
• Capacity to deal with people in a polite and friendly manner
