WestJet Inflight Training Delivery is looking for motivated, dynamic, and passionate individuals to join the Cabin Crew Training team as a full time instructor.

After a rigorous and supportive training program, you will feel confident to deliver all elements of Cabin Crew Training, including Technical Flight Attendant Training, Crew Resource Management, Operations Training, First Aid, and Leadership Training programs.

Our high-performing team is excited to bring on new Instructors as an integral part of the Inflight Training Team, providing great opportunities for development and growth.

How you will lead, every day:

  • Deliver WestJet’s technical, safety, leadership, and operations training programs for B737 and B787 (if applicable) aircraft type at the highest level of quality and care
  • Contribute to a culture of care, learning, growth, and fun, inspiring others to do the same
  • Ensure all training programs are delivered accurately, consistently and in accordance with all operational procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Take accountability and responsibility for delivering an excellent learner experience
  • Commit to the personal and professional development of the learners
  • Create a positive and professional training environment that promotes engagement and drives success and performance
  • Own the relationship between learners and colleagues, operating as a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Model the leadership traits of adaptability and reliability, and act as an advocate for change with a forward-thinking approach

Qualifications and personal traits we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Boeing 737 flight attendant with minimum 6 months experience and willing to requalify and maintain qualifications as a Cabin Crew Member
  • Hold a valid passport
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card (requires a 5-year traceable history, criminal background check, and Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident Card)
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment aviation medical (including alcohol and drug screening)
  • Minimum 1 – 3 years in adult facilitation experience is an asset
  • Previous Cabin Personnel/Facilitation/Instructor experience is an asset
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills are a must
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills combined with an effective coaching ability
  • Proven organizational and time management skills are required
  • Self-starter, high work standards and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, overnight work, and travel when required
  • The position will work full time at the Calgary Campus and Inflight Training facility, as such the position is domiciled in YYC
