Tasks

As Commercial Airport Infrastructure Manager, you will represent the division within overarching projects and will be responsible for achieving optimal cost structures for the Lufthansa Group and negotiating airport charges and handling fees.

  • Preparation and review of tender documents on the basis of requirements analyses and involvement of Group companies in tenders
  • Renegotiating contracts on the basis of framework agreements, changed requirements and as part of incentive management, as well as marketing agreements with airports
  • Coordination/optimization of the requirements/scope of external services with the flight planning, operations, product mgmt. of the LH Group companies
  • Preparation of analyses/plausibility checks and provision of information (cost estimates) in the context of outsourcing decisions
  • Identification of potential savings, development of a negotiation strategy and conducting negotiations with airports and handling agents

Requirements

  • Completed university degree in the field of economics/ engineering/ computer science, law or comparable
  • Several years of relevant professional experience with purchasing processes in regulated industries
  • Strong understanding of air transport processes
  • Knowledge of the current framework conditions of air transport, the economic, political and socio-political situation
  • Analytical and strategic thinking
  • Cost/benefit awareness
  • Negotiating skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Other foreign languages (French, Italian, Spanish) advantageous
  • Willingness to travel
