Job Description

Johnson Service Group, a nationally award winning staffing firm, is looking to hire a Manufacturing Technician II for a manufacturing company in Carlsbad, CA.

This role is Temp to Hire | Onsite | The pay range for this position is between $20.00 - 26.00 per hour |Candidate must have authorization to work with in the US as our client isn’t able to provide current or future sponsorship.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician II with experience in Lyophilization. The Manufacturing Technician II will play a critical role in the production of pharmaceutical products through the lyophilization process. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a dedication to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate and monitor lyophilization equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Set up, prepare, and load product batches onto lyophilizers, adhering to prescribed protocols and timelines.
  • Conduct in-process monitoring and inspections of lyophilization cycles, adjusting parameters as necessary to maintain product integrity.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lyophilization equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and process deviations, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and mitigate risks to product quality.
  • Document all production activities, including equipment logs, batch records, and deviation reports, in accordance with cGMP guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams to conduct investigations and resolve discrepancies related to lyophilization processes and products.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and practices at all times, including proper handling of hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to cleanroom procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including routine sanitation of equipment and work areas, to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with cGMP standards.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2-3 years relevant experience is required, a Bachelor's in an Engineering discipline or Life Science field preferred.
  • Minimum of  2 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a focus on lyophilization operations.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting lyophilization equipment, including freeze dryers, condensers, and vacuum systems.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP regulations and FDA guidelines governing pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions and procedures with precision.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues across departments.
