Head of Software Development (100%, all gender)

As the Head of Software Development, you will lead our team in delivering cutting-edge software solutions tailored to the unique requirements of the airline industry. Your role will encompass inspiring your team members, colleagues such as developers and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions while ensuring quality and adherence to technical standards by leveraging your deep IT knowledge.

Tasks

• Lead & manage a team of software developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration & improvement
• Manage your budget
• Develop a understanding of airline IT architecture, to guide software development efforts effectively
• Act as a liaison between the software development team & other departments
• Utilize your extensive IT knowledge to oversee the development of applications, APIs & backend systems using technologies such as C#, .NET Core, REST web services, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Unix, Windows, Dart, Flutter, Swift & SQL
• Implement agile methodologies to streamline software development processes
• Drive digital innovation by exploring emerging technologies, experimenting with new tools and methodologies & championing a mindset of continuous learning
• Manage the release process for mobile applications on platforms such as the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope & prioritize development efforts based on business objectives & customer needs
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in leading & managing software development teams, preferably in the airline industry
• Experience with agile methodologies & project management tools, such as Azure DevOps or Jira
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong technical proficiency in application programming, API development, backend systems, frontend, cloud technologies, CI/CD, with expertise in languages such as C#, .NET Core, SQL, Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, Dart & web (JS, HTML)
• Excellent communication, leadership & interpersonal skills
• Experience managing the release process for mobile applications on platforms such as the Apple App Store & Google Play Store, including knowledge of submission guidelines
• A commitment to continuous learning, staying updated on the latest trends & advancements in software development
• Unrestricted work permit for Austria
