Position Summary

The Quality Control Receiving Inspector ensures all parts, tooling and materials brought into the JetBlue system are serviceable and airworthy. The Quality Control Receiving Inspector ensures quality standards are maintained throughout the process of certification and acceptance following all company and regulatory requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Inspects and is responsible for signing the airworthiness of aircraft spare parts, tooling and materials entering the JetBlue system
  • Ensures all items are in compliance with engineering controls, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and technical standard items
  • Signs the JetBlue Maintenance Parts Tag (MX-41) for all spare parts and tooling
  • Performs general visual inspection with attention to detail to identify defects, shipping damage and including possible suspected unapproved parts
  • Ensures parts are received with the proper supporting documentation meeting all company and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Certifies parts are from an approved source and for use on JetBlue aircraft
  • Determines if all parts and materials are serviceable per the requirements of the General Maintenance Manual and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Supports other departments as required including Materials, Aircraft Records & Compliance
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Experience And Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Must be able to interpret and understand technical manuals and data
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
  • Ability to crawl, bend, kneel and climb
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship


Preferred Experience And Qualifications

  • One (1) year of previous receiving inspection experience
  • One (1) year of previous aircraft maintenance experience
  • One (1) year of experience receiving aircraft parts and materials
  • Turbine engine inspection experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Effective communication skills; complete fluency in written and spoken English
  • Write technically in order to maintain required documentation as it pertains to aircraft parts
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Able to work under pressure in a team environment
  • Familiar with Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to aircraft parts and airworthiness

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Upholding JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Physical Effort:

  • Position requires strenuous physical work. Heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently. (Heavy)


Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $58,500.00 and $77,800.00. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
