At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. We have an new exciting and career defining opportunity for Industrialisation Engineer ,You will be responsible for analysing the outputs from the newly connected assets and working closely with the digital connectivity and I.T. integration teams. Your aim will be to deliver insight to our Manufacturing Engineering function, identifying and solving problems that contribute to the sites yearly objectives.

How You'll Contribute

  • Utilize statistical and analytical methods to analyse engineering and operational data.
  • Propose and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase overall productivity.
  • Lead and or collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure proper data capture.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure seamless integration of process improvements.
  • Regularly document activities in technical reports, memos, procedures, specifications, and presentations to the highest standards to capture and communicate knowledge.

What you'll Bring

Essential

  • Experience using Lean/6 Sigma/ and or similar continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Manufacture & Design Engineering understanding, including ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and models.
  • Engineering process fundamentals understanding; across, data management, subtractive metallic, materials & emerging methods.
  • Experience of engineering with metallic processes through standard manufacturing routes (machining, drilling, and fastening)
  • Problem solving using standard tools such as 8D, 5 why etc.
  • Seeks to understand & develop customer requirements from concept through to delivery using structured methods.
  • Highly effective communication skills– both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports.

Desirable

  • Familiar with the use of PLC’s, HMI’s and SCADA & OPC UA for increased insight into our industrial processes
  • Looking for a mature, trustworthy, responsible, motivated, cheerful and dependable worker
  • Must be able to follow procedures and directions; work independently and collectively
  • Desire to take initiative and remain focused; be flexible, manage tasks, problem solve, and learn quickly
  • Knowledgeable/proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
