ServiceNow Platform Engineer

The ServiceNow Platform Engineer (Internal Job Title: Senior Automation Specialist) reports to the Chapter Lead - Infrastructure Operations. This role is responsible for defining, designing, developing, and implementing system changes and enhancements and providing technical expertise and support on the ServiceNow platform, to ensure the value of the system is maximised to effectively support user needs and achieve business objectives.

Air New Zealand has a very broad ServiceNow portfolio. Our ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of ServiceNow functionality and how all ITIL processes can be implemented in ServiceNow. This includes all core ITSM processes (incident, change, problem, CMDB, service catalogue), as well as Discovery, Orchestration, App Creator, Demand Management, Project Management, Performance Analytics and many other applications relating to ServiceNow products.

Alongside your experience in ServiceNow functions above, you'll have:

• At least 5 years' experience in detailed systems analysis, software design and application development; specifically, more than 3 years working with the ServiceNow platform to design and implement solutions.
• Deep knowledge of ITSM, CMDB and Discovery, Request Automation, CI/CD, Cloud, and Networking.Broad familiarity and/or awareness of a variety of technologies; including Infrastructure, HR, and Observability platforms.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices with demonstrable experience applying these in an agile environment.
• Experience configuring all aspects of ServiceNow - Scripting, Workflow, Business Rules, UI Policies, and Integration Hub to name a few; and an applied understanding of Service Portal development (HTML, CSS, Angular, Bootstrap, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and leverage strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders across functions.
