CHC has an exciting opportunity in Australia for a Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) Analyst. The FDM analyst is responsible for the effective and efficient analysis and reporting of the data from the CHC FDM Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse FDM data
  • Validate events to ensure generated events are genuine
  • Forward all medium and high-risk events to the appropriate base FDM representative
  • Ensure confidentiality is always maintained in accordance with the CHC FDM policy and applicable agreements
  • Create and maintain FDM dashboards (e.g. Power BI/Tableau) to provide real-time insight for all key stakeholders
  • Produce and distribute FDM newsletters
  • Act as a Point of contact and interface to CHC engineering for aggregated FDM Data
  • Support incident and accident investigations
  • Support the Operational Oversight Team with the creation and maintenance of dashboard (OOP)
  • Support the overall Flight Standards team for in-depth data analysis projects (e.g. Training records, Line Oriented Safety Audits (LOSA) data, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with management, staff, and regulatory authorities
  • Keep up to date with current trends and developments associated with the industry including quality and safety legislation
  • Demonstrate alignment to the CHC Values.

Qualifications, Skills, And Attributes

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A relevant degree in Aviation, Data Science or similar field of study or 3 years’ experience in similar role
  • Minimal of 2 years of demonstrated experience in Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) or data science is a plus
  • Self-motivated and results oriented with a focus on delivery of flight data monitoring.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate ideas to both a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to participate and deliver outcomes within a team of aviation professionals.
  • A demonstrated personal drive with the ability to think strategically and deliver practical solutions.
  • A desire to provide creative solutions to operational aviation problems.
  • Analytical and organizing skills with strong attention to detail.
  • High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office, intranet platforms and other communications tools. Knowledge of Python, SQL, Tableau and / or Power BI is a plus.
