ROLE SUMMARY

As a Senior Accountant at Swissport Cargo Services, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the financial accounting functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and a proactive mindset to contribute to the financial success of the organization.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings, overseeing uploads to the group reporting tool.
  • Conducting thorough reconciliation of intercompany accounts among all Belgian units within the group.
  • Managing accruals, corrections, reclassifications, and handling analytical matters efficiently.
  • Skillfully preparing, reporting, and publishing annual accounts, incorporating the social balance aspect.
  • Handling the preparation and reporting of workers council reports accurately.
  • Ensuring the timely preparation and reporting of annual tax returns to tax consultants.
  • Managing monthly VAT tax returns and VAT listings effectively.
  • Overseeing the preparation and reporting of Belcotax (consultancy fees) to tax consultants.
  • Handling payroll bookings, including those from SD Worx, along with additional accruals.
  • Providing monthly and yearly statistics to Federal Public Services as required.
  • Managing yearly contact with actuaries and handling relevant bookings accurately.
  • Providing backup support for receivable invoicing services when necessary.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and provide insights for decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Seven years of demonstrated expertise as a Senior Accountant.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Accounting software (e.g., SAP, Exact).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within the finance team and across departments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Fluent in French, Dutch, and English.
  • Ability to work independently with a good team spirit.
