Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) is looking for an entry level Product Definition & Drafting Engineer like you, to work under the Central Engineering organization. In this role you will collaborate with Mechanical Design Engineers to develop aerospace systems parts. You will also thrive on tackling challenges, as the position requires the use of problem-solving skills in a hands-on work environment to address problems and implement appropriate design or process changes.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Verify complete accuracy of parametric 3D Siemens NX models and definition. Definition could be 2D associative drawing definition or Model Based Definition (MBD).
  • Perform design analysis of engineering product definition.
  • Measure On Time Delivery and Quality of deliveries to report and to do process improvements.
  • Ensure accurate part interrelationships through tolerance and geometric studies.
  • Participate on IPT’s (Integrated Product Teams) as Product Definition team member.
  • Complete details of major layout drawings in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.
  • Develop design drawings according to engineering sketches and proposal specifications.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 12 months or less of prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with standard engineering drafting processes and practices.
  • Design experience in the engineering field, in a product definition group.
  • Experience with GD&T and working knowledge of industry standards including ASME/ANSI Y14.
  • Experience in 3D modeling with CAD tools including NX (formally Unigraphics) and PLM Teamcenter.
