Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney is looking for a motivated individual who can effectively manage a diverse range of environmental regulatory compliance program requirements across multiple industrial manufacturing sites. The candidate would oversee programs as a leader in the Compliance Center of Excellence (CCOE) a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

Responsibilities:

  • Align the CCOE with PW business strategies, compliance initiatives, and emerging issues. Leverage best-in-class commonality, in terms of systems and controls at the East Hartford & Middletown campuses.
  • Title V, & other federal requirements, CT State air permits, reporting, monitoring, & compliance
  • Chemicals mgt., execution, tracking and data integrity systems
  • Conduct Spill Response and incident reviews
  • Oversee management of Change process for equipment/projects/process changes
  • Prioritize extensive shop floor presence to gain critical knowledge of equipment and processes, to perform visual inspections/verifications, and to control failure modes.
  • Strengthen relationships with process owners to empower for speed and enable equipment, facilities, production to meet PW quality & delivery goals with 100% compliant outcomes.
  • Improve operations level controls to operate processes within regulatory boundaries.
  • Provide regulatory reviews & support for submittals
  • Execute regulator interactions, including agency inspections
  • Provide reports, guidance, and status to stakeholders/committees
  • Broaden competencies into all media, to fill mission needs: CWA, RCRA, TSCA, DHS, contaminated media, emergency plans, training, subsurface mitigation efforts, and state requirements.
  • Improve, align, and standardize systems & engineered controls throughout the global PW enterprise.
  • Develop strategies to minimize environmental pollution risks and and mistake proof regulatory risks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Science, Engineering, Environmental or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
  • Travel ~30%, to assist P&W globally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree
  • Pratt & Whitney OEM, DO, Test, & Aftermarket processes including etching, milling, anodizing, plating, pickling, and clean lines, cooling towers, parts washers, aqueous stripping, machining, drilling, boilers, Cogen, forging, casting, blasting, test cells, fuel farms, MCL labs, and inspection processes.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
