We have an exciting remote opportunity for a Global Trade Technology Manager (Remote)!

Key Responsibilities:

Member of the P&W Legal, Compliance and Contracts (LCC), Global Trade Requirements Management organization with for a mission of the development, refinement and continuous improvement of a world class JC management system that enables Pratt & Whitney to achieve its business objectives compliantly and efficiently by managing JC requirements and embedding JC gates in compliance and business processes to:

  • Mitigate compliance risks to prudent nonzero levels
  • Reduce the overall workload for Pratt to meet JC requirements
  • Reduce the time to satisfy JC requirements (e.g., eliminate approvals, reduce TAT)
  • Align processes across Pratt where possible and consistent with the above

And by prioritizing those opportunities that:

  • Will most reduce Pratt workload
  • Will realize workload saving benefits in the least time
  • Require the least investment of scarce resources (people, money, DT & other SME bandwidth)

Including:

  • Proactive development and implementation of enhancements, strategies, processes, standard work and jurisdiction and classification guidance to ensure P&W’s ongoing compliance with all export laws, regulations and RTX/P&W policies related to the export of technical data, commodities (including products and parts), software, and services
  • Manage process improvement activities led by LCC and develop common process approaches for use across P&W operations and disciplines in the areas of jurisdiction and classification (J/C), Global Trade Focal training, export operational process management, and export authorizations

Specifically, the selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with P&W Engineering, Module Centers and Operations, Quality Assurance, Global Supply Chain Management, Military Engines and Commercial Engines & Aftermarket, Information Technology, and other P&W organizations to understand P&W’s products, technology, software, and services (including third party items) and to assist the organizations with the implementation of Global Trade compliance requirements in the areas of J/C and export authority
  • GT J/C escalation support for all P&W organizations globally
  • Assess compliance of processes and tools to JC requirements
  • In collaboration with the GT Training Lead and Focal Program Lead, oversee the development and delivery of formal and informal JC Focal training - this requires a demonstrated technical knowledge of the items that P&W uses or produces, to facilitate regulatory analyses/rationale in determining appropriate J/C and export authority
  • Support activities within P&W TM Council, P&W J/C Committee and P&W xClass Integrated Product Teams as well as RTX wide projects as defined by the RTX J/C Steering Teams
  • Perform required technical reviews in support of investigations, authorizations, litigations or other needs
  • Support closure of identified gaps stemming from data analytics, targeted assessments and RTX GT Health Assessments results and findings
  • Work in coordination with Technology Managers within GT and the business units, and business unit GT managers to help them develop, implement, and manage tailored trade compliance Digital Technology solutions, processes, and procedures and identify and mitigate compliance risks throughout the enterprise
  • Prepare and support CCATS and CJs submittals to USG as required
  • Prepare and publish internal Guidance and Quick Reference Guides
  • Maintain J/C related Pratt & Whitney Level 3 procedures, J/C Guidance Documents and Classification Management Quick Reference Guides

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field and 8+ years of experience in product and/or Global Trade; OR an Advanced degree in Engineering or a technical field and 5+ years of experience in product and/or Global Trade

Preferred Qualifications:

  • P&W J/C Focal Level 3 or Level 2 with ability to obtain JCL3 within first 12 months of role
  • Qualifications include a demonstrated in-depth understanding of P&W’s business objectives and strategic missions, technical familiarity with P&W’s products and services
  • J/C Level 3 training demonstrated cross-functional GT project skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. export and regulations including, the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and he Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
  • Candidate should have good analytical, project management, interpersonal and informal leadership skills as well as good communication skills - collaborative team player, possessing multi-tasking abilities, client focus, adaptive and process oriented mindset, and work effectively on time sensitive matters and changing requirements
  • Familiarity with P&W DT tools and systems are an asset as well as exposure to different aspects of J/C and/or the GT program

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
