Overview:
WestJet is currently seeking a Fleet Transition Specialist to support our Technical Operations team. As a member of the Technical Operations team reporting to the Sr. Manager, Aircraft Integration & Configuration, the Fleet Transition Specialist supports the transition of aircraft in and out of the WestJet fleet and provides lessors with aircraft updates/utilization status reports for our leased aircraft.
In addition, this role coordinates aircraft registration, operating certificates, and radio licensing with Transport Canada and Industry Canada.

In addition, this role coordinates aircraft registration, operating certificates, and radio licensing with Transport Canada and Industry Canada.
Key Deliverables Include:
- Facilitating aircraft acquisition and/or disposition by auditing and organizing the necessary technical records/documents required for technical acceptance of the aircraft for an aircraft sale/lease based on IATA standards;
- Reporting on aircraft lease requirements (e.g. monthly and annual status/utilization reports) to aircraft leasing companies;
- Provide technical records/documents to the Treasury department when required to support fleet management decisions;
- Participate in technical documentation reviews with the lessor and internal stakeholders to disposition aircraft records deficiencies
- Coordinate rectification of records deficiencies with internal and external stakeholders
- Business improvement projects as required.
- Post-Secondary Diploma from a technical school is considered an asset;
- Must have 3 years of experience with technical records;
- Minimum of 5 years of working in airline maintenance environment;
- Previous experience with lessor reporting requirements used for aircraft sales and leases, is considered an asset;
- Familiarity with IATA best practices for aircraft leases is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of aircraft regulatory requirements (e.g. CARs/FARs/EASA) is considered an asset;
- Must be exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail;
- Possess excellent verbal and written skills;
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize with strong time management skills
- Strong team player with collaborative values to ensure work is completed and delivered on time;
- Previous experience with Maintenance & Engineering software (e.g. TRAX) as well as records management software (e.g. AirVault) are considered assets;
- Proficient using Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel).
